About
Cementos Argos is a multinational company with a presence in sixteen countries, excelling as the leading cement producer in Colombia and a major player in the Caribbean and Central America. Since its founding in 1934, Argos has embraced numerous changes, particularly the integration of digital technology across its operations. The company is renowned for its commitment to innovation and sustainability, positioning itself as a pioneer in the cement industry.
Challenge
Before digitising its processes, Argos faced significant inefficiencies in its Central American operations due to heavy reliance on paper-based procedures. These manual processes were not only time-consuming but also prone to human error. For instance, operators had to physically travel to and from the field to obtain and deliver permits, causing delays and inefficiencies. Recognising these challenges, Argos sought to digitise its operations to streamline processes and reduce environmental impact.
Solution
Argos initiated its digital transformation to address inefficiencies and promote sustainability. The company adopted MoreApp for its ease of use and alignment with environmental values. Starting with simple forms, Argos gradually expanded digitisation across all operations, optimising over 19,355 work hours in areas like safety and maintenance. MoreApp's intuitive platform allowed employees without coding knowledge to contribute to the digital transformation. Additionally, Argos integrated MoreApp with Power Automate, connecting it to OneDrive, Power BI, SAP, and SharePoint Online. This integration enabled real-time data transfer to Power BI dashboards, enhancing trend analysis and operational management.
Results
Argos' digital transformation has yielded remarkable results, showcasing the power of innovation and sustainability. Key achievements include:
- Generation of over 29,032 digital forms, streamlining data collection and management.
- Elimination of 116,128 paper sheets, significantly reducing environmental impact.
- Optimisation of more than 19,355 work hours through process automation, enhancing overall efficiency.
These accomplishments highlight Argos' commitment to leveraging technology for operational excellence and environmental stewardship.
